There were a small number of presentation carbines made probably less than 1000, these have higher grade wood and high gloss finish on the wood; some have inscriptions in the wood usually on a silver plate.

Plainfield Machine Company produced M1 Carbines from 1960 to 1977. Iver Johnson bought them out and continued production until the 50 th anniversary models were produced.
Universal Goods Co. made M 1 copies for a unknown number of years.
